An Observation about the “Cultural Renascence” of Katukina-Noke Koi People in Brazil through the Revitalization of the Shamanism
Biographical note: Virgilio Bomfim has his bachelor on History and was a teacher of History, Geography and Philosophy at the Centro Internacional de Educação Cultura (2011-2018). His master degree and current Ph.d research is in Anthropology with its focus on shamanism and culture a musician. He has done graduation in Classical piano and popular Brazilian acoustic guitar in the Conservatório Pernambucano de Música. He has recorded albums with his own compositions and jazz standards. Virgilio plays many ethnic instruments from America such as quena, quenachos, Pífanos, Native American flutes and charango. Parallel to Ph.d research he is currently working with the pianist Marcos Diniz to produce a concert of Jazz and Bossa Nova standards to quena flutes.
