How to Travel to Chiayi

Here is some information about how to travel to Chiayi. As of last update, Taiwan has two main international airports:
1. Taoyuan International Airport (TPE) - Located near Taipei, the capital city. To travel from Taoyuan International Airport (TPE) to Chiayi Train Station, you have a few options:
(1) High-Speed Rail (HSR): Take the Airport MRT (Taoyuan Airport MRT) from Taoyuan
Airport Terminal 1 or Terminal 2 to Taoyuan (HSR) Station. Then, take the HSR from Taoyuan Station to Chiayi Station. From Chiayi HSR Station, you can either take a taxi or local transportation (shuttle bus) to Chiayi Train Station. It's a short distance.
(2) Bus: You can take a bus directly from Taoyuan Airport to Chiayi. There are several bus companies offering this service. The bus journey may take longer than the HSR, but it's usually more affordable.
(3) Taxi or Private Transfer: You can take a taxi or arrange for a private transfer from Taoyuan Airport directly to Chiayi Train Station. This option offers the most convenience but can be more expensive than public transportation.
2. Kaohsiung International Airport (KHH) - Located in southern Taiwan, serving the city of Kaohsiung. To travel from Kaohsiung International Airport (KHH) to Chiayi Train Station, you have several transportation options:
(1) High-Speed Rail (HSR): Take the Kaohsiung MRT (Metro) or a taxi from Kaohsiung International Airport to Zuoying HSR Station.Transfer to the Taiwan High-Speed Rail (HSR) at Zuoying HSR Station. Then, take the HSR from Zuoying to Chiayi Station. From Chiayi HSR Station, you can either take a taxi or local transportation (shuttle bus) to Chiayi Train Station. It's a short distance.
(2) Bus: You can take a bus from Kaohsiung Airport to Chiayi. There are several bus companies offering this service. The bus journey may take longer than the HSR, but it's usually more affordable.
